Wow, Calgary is one stressed-out city! Let’s fix that up.

Feeling stressed lately? I think it’s going around, especially with all the change in the province, financial instability, and even a busy sports season for parents, Calgary is one stressed city. I’m seeing this a lot lately with people coming into Reset Health for some relief. It’s important to have the tools during these times to combat the stress before it really takes a toll on your body.

 

It has been estimated that 75 – 90 percent of all visits to primary care physicians are for stress related problems. Everyone holds their stress in a different area of their body (IE shoulders or jaw) and relieving these areas of tension can make a huge impact in how you’re feeling.

    If this makes you cringe, fear not, I’m not necessarily talking about sitting in complete silence, cross-legged, chanting ommmmm (but if you are into that, good on you!). Meditation can be explored in a number of ways, including cooking, walking, hiking, gardening, or any other activity you love—the key is to block out the noise (especially your mobile phone) and focus in on yourself to decompress.
